About the Role

We are looking to add a Team Manager to our Staff Team who can offer 21-25 hours a week in a volunteer role with the intention that it will become a salaried position when funding is available.

We are looking for someone with strong experience in strategic leadership roles to manage the staff team and key volunteers at Chroma Church Birmingham, and support implementation of the vision of the Senior Pastors. You will have very good people management, communication and team building skills, being able to motivate and empower those you lead. 

You will be able to think and plan strategically, be comfortable acting on your own initiative and be able to prioritise limited resources well. You will have experience of successfully implementing policies and procedures in the work environment.

Area Of Responsibility

Managing the staff team and key volunteers to ensure they are as effective as possible in fulfilling their roles.

Ensuring that the vision and values of the church are embedded in the activities and projects of the staff team.

Support the staff in creating healthy work life balance and modelling healthy boundaries.

Development of a supportive and outward looking team culture. Working with the staff team to harness the gifts and passions of individuals in the church.

Ensuring implementation of policies and procedures eg Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Data protection, Risk management, GDPR and Confidentiality. Responsibility for HR (including sickness, leave etc), staff development andperformance, appraisals and supervision, and managing conflict. Recruiting, appointing and training staff alongside senior leaders.

Understanding the church’s financial position and monitoring project budgets alongside the staff team.

Oversee and coordinate administration and communication across the church. Liaison with the project manager for the development of the building. Clear communication with Trustees and senior leadership. Attendance at trustee meetings and other relevant team meetings.

Supporting the Trustees in the development and updating of policy. Awareness of legislative changes and implications for the church.

Forward planning with the Trustees and Senior Leadership Team. Implementation of priorities and strategic plans. Communication to the staff team concerns and issues raised by Trustees.

To represent the church where necessary with other agencies.
